About Us

Our church is a multigenerational group of people committed to a united purpose: being transformed by God, connecting with others, and sharing the hope we have in Jesus through serving others in our church and Camrose community. Find hope. Find connection. Follow Jesus with us.

Our History

On August 22, 1901, a small group of pioneers gathered at the home of Christian Weisser and his family and our church was born. Initially meeting at the Weisser farm for prayer meetings and business sessions, the congregation held worship services and Sunday School at the school house just a mile away. The first church building was constructed in 1907. From the start, Century Meadows has had a real heart for families and for our young people, with a Sunday School and “very active young people’s society” both developing immediately as ministries of the church. These both continue to this day through Sunday morning classes for all ages and vibrant youth and young adults, seniors group and Life Groups that meet weekly for Bible study, worship music, or fun events, as well as periodic mission trip opportunities. Our heart for missions and for sharing the good news of Jesus has also been a strong theme with a Women’s Mission Circle beginning in 1915, and transforming into the many partnerships, church ministries, and community service opportunities that we enjoy today. Through several church buildings and moves, Century Meadows continues to seek to follow Christ’s example in serving others and to point others to the hope we have in our really faithful God.

Our Community

We are a lovely vibrant multi-generational group with a great representation of children, teens, young and older adults, and seniors. We value connection, growing in our faith, and serving others which we experience through different connecting events, services, Life Groups, ministries, and serving opportunities in the church and the community. You will generally see approximately 200-250 people in our Sunday morning worship services with quite an even split across the age categories and a mix of marrieds and singles from all walks of life. We love ministering to young families and really have a heart for kids here at CMBC, both the little ones as well as teens and young adults in our church and community. We know we do better at life when we are connected with people and have a place to belong. CMBC Life Groups are a great place to develop in your relationship with Jesus as you grow intentional relationships with others who have the same goal. Our Primetimers ministry gives adults 55+ a variety of events with components of worship & music, Bible teaching, fellowship and interaction to encourage you in your spiritual journey. Our church is a place to belong and to grow.

Our Heart

Serving others allows God to use us, stretch us, and use the spiritual gifts He has placed in us. CMBC has always valued working together to make an impact in our community, country and world. Our Missions Outreach Team helps us find ways to reach out into our community to meet needs and to be an encouragement and light to others. CMBC is a place where you can find connection and grow in your faith as you step out and serve, whether it be serving soup at Martha’s Table, rallying together to create the most epic garage sales ever to raise funds for a mission trip, or maybe greeting on Sunday mornings or assisting with our Kids Church. Serving helps us to live out our hope in Jesus, it connects us, and God transforms our lives through it. So whether you’re new, been here for a while, or are just checking us out, CMBC is a great place to come, ask questions, reach out to talk to someone, explore your faith, and grow.
